June 2 to 4th almost 15000 students from 35 nations came for the Every Nation Campus Conference to Quezon City, Manila, Philippines.

The band used a system with 6 myMix and appreciated a great sound, controlled by themselves, while keeping the stage noise low.

Abraham Martinez, sound engineer for award winning artists Marcos Witt is using myMix for Marcos’s band.

Christian Musician, Marcos Witt’s 25 Conmemorativo won Best Christian album at the Latin Grammys which makes it the 5th Grammy for Witt and the second for his Sound Engineer, Abraham Martinez. Martinez has a long history centered in the Latin American Christian Music market, having worked with such artists as Danilo Montero, Marcela Gandara, Rojo, Daniel Calveti and many others. Martinez and the Witt team are headed back out on tour in April where the myMix personal monitor system will accompany them as well.

The team was introduced to myMix by audio engineer colleague, Alvaro Llano at a concert in Columbia. The introduction spawned the purchase of 8 myMix monitors and one IEX-16L input expander.

This was integrated into their Shure in-ear wireless system on the last tour which created the “ultimate wireless monitor mix” as Martinez claims. For the upcoming tour, Martinez is very excited about adding the myMix Control configuration software which will allow for complete configuration of the system on the tour.

Martinez had been looking for a compact monitoring solution that would make their sound check times shorter, provide full customized monitoring control for each musician, and have uncompromised audio quality.

Finally, after 2 ½ months of touring the American continent from north to south, I have found a minute to write about myMix.

After using it in more than 35 concerts, shipping it on 50 flights through ten countries, myMix has not given us a single problem, not a single failure. It is very intuitive and comfortable and provides so many possibilities like the multi-track recording on a SD card (on 16GB, almost 2 hours), effects per channel, EQ, sending the outputs to wireless, two XLR inputs with phantom power …

Summary: a very reliable tool.

There has not been a single sound company during our concerts that has not been interested in checking out how we use myMix. The musicians enjoy not having to depend on me for any adjustment of their instrument … so sometimes I don’t feel needed…

Monitor engineers–don’t worry: myMix is not going to take your job. It’s more like in a good restaurant, you need a good chef, even if it is self-service.”
